Editing and Proofreading
Presently, Iím doing editing and proofreading in English and French.
Editing process can be of different types:
Iím able to do editing and proofreading on texts of all types. This could be a Web site, a thesis, a master degree, a corporate document, a manuscript or a flyer.
- Structural and Stylistic Editing
It consists of a global analysis of the text for intelligibility, structure or logical continuation of the ideas and adaptation according to the readership targeted.
The aim is to improve the style of the text in its entirety by using the appropriate syntactic and lexical resources.
At this step, the editor is focusing on misspelled words, on syntax,
on vocabulary and punctuation.
- Copy Editing
It consists of preparation of a text, already reviewed, before printing. Among others things, the editor should apply the rules in use in the whole document.
Including the verification of the whole document before printing. Once again, typographic and orthographic mistakes, formatting of the text and visual presentation are verified.
After all these steps, the document is ready to be printed.
The editing and the proofreading can be achieved in different formats:
hard copy, Word, Excel, PDF, ODF documents, and HTML.
